Delta E (ΔE) is a metric for understanding how the human eye perceives color difference. In other words, it’s a metric we can use to know how similar or different are two given colors.
Styler uses dE76 to find styles that do not have the exact color of the unstyled layer, but that are close enough to be considered similar.
When looking for similar font sizes a 10% tolerance is applied. This way, styles that have a font size between 18pt and 22pt will also be suggested for layers whose font size is 20pt.
When looking for similar font weight, Styler will also include styles that are one level thinner or thicker than the layer.
For instance, styles with ‘Semibold’ or ‘Semilight’ will be suggested for layers that are ‘Regular’.

Exact vs. Similar
Exact will look for styles that have the exact same attributes of your unstyled layer. Similar is… cooler 🤩
Review the matches and decide which should be applied and which not. If there’s more than one match, choose which fits best for your design.
When you’re done, Hit ‘Assign Styles’ and let the magic happen 🎩 ! No more unstyled texts or layers in your designs!
Review & Decide
We all have plenty of linked libraries and tons of useless styles, but you probably don’t want all of that noise in your styling.
Choose the libraries you want Styler to search in for matching styles and make your decisions easier!
